The new space sits within the first commercial office building outside of London to achieve a BREEAM Outstanding rating and its occupation reflects Gleeds’ global commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. Aurora incorporates a host of state-of-the-art sustainability features, including an intelligent LED lighting system and high-efficiency photovoltaic panels to the roof. Shortlisted at the BREEAM Awards earlier this year, the building also meets LEED Gold standards and boasts Platinum Wired accreditation for connectivity and digital infrastructure.
Despite the outbreak of Covid-19, Gleeds remains committed to providing staff with physical workspaces that encourage collaboration and a sense of belonging. To that end, it has worked with interior design firm Blueprint to create a flexible, inspiring environment which will incorporate high-end audio-visual equipment, new IT and telephony systems, and dedicated break-out working and client zones. The innovative workspace was recently featured on local BBC TV magazine programme ‘Points West’ as an exemplar of blended working.

The 80-strong team of Gleeds' staff who operate in and around Bristol will have access to the new building this week, with Covid secure systems in place to manage daily attendance until restrictions are lifted.
